Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
Greetings from the Graduate Advisor
Greetings Sorors, Friends, & Colleagues,
Welcome to the website of the Kappa Upsilon chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! We are honored that you are taking the time to visit us and learn about our national organization, our chapter, and our members – both past and present.
Over 107 years ago, our founders laid an indestructible foundation based on scholarship, unity, social stature, leadership, and service. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is an exemplary organization founded on a legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. We were the first African-American interest sorority founded in the USA on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908. Since our birth in 1908, we have responded to the world's growing complexity by empowering communities through our service targets and programs.
Kappa Upsilon Chapter continues to uphold the wonderful legacy of our illustrious organization. Since our chartering on May 23, 1976, we have hosted numerous community service, educational, and social programs in order to improve the social stature of people both within and outside of the Valdosta State University and the Valdosta community.
As you explore our website, it is our genuine hope that you gain greater insight into Kappa Upsilon and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. We also hope to inspire you by showing you our legacy of excellence through our dedication to sisterhood, academic excellence, and community service. Welcome and we hope you enjoy HERstory!
Sincerely,
Jessica Lewis
